Starting off in this mini-project we were paired up. Then my partner and I researched a list of parties and organizations. Based off of the research and data my partner and I gathered we had to decide where the organizations and parties stood on the political spectrum, the left side or right. A couple examples of the parties we had to research were Tea Party, PETA, Greenpeace, Black Panthers and many more. The political Spectrum you see to the right is my personal graph.
I've never really been into politics or payed much attention to the news on television, let alone newspaper, so this project was very eye opening. I was able to learn more about parties and organizations that I never knew existed. I was glad we were doing through this project because at the time the election was going on, the one between Trump and Clinton. After completing this project I was able to better understand the election and where the two candidates stood. |
Just like the previous project we were paired up to create a world map. My partner Lucy and I's topic was Immigrants in the U.S. by country in the 1920's. First, we researched the top 20 countries with the most immigrants in the U.S. during that time. Second, we searched a world map during 1920 because the borders are different compared to the world map today. Finally, we traced the world map, drew a graph, and wrote the countries. The photo to the right is my personal map.
I've always seen world maps but I've never needed to locate anything on it. Through this project I was able to better understand how the world looks geographically. I had to accurately pin point the countries listed and I didn't know where the majority of them were. I also learned that my partner and I were great communicators when it came to the project because often times I had to leave class early for swim, but we were able to work things out and make sure we both worked equally. |
