Our team grouped weekly bread baking while learning the historical, social, scientific and math of the bread making process. We explored how the type of bread a society makes can tell us about their values, access and social construct. We reverse engineered bread machines before designing and building pedal powered grain mills and modeled the transformation processes of bread from seed to loaf while analyzing different nutritional levels during each stage of the process. The project has turned into a meal where we “break bread" with our family for exhibition.
